Workbench Paper Roll Dispenser
I recently built a new workbench, and I wanted to protect it from paint and stain splatters. There's nothing worse than getting a rogue blue splotch on a perfect white paint job!
My workbench is 2 feet wide, and I found this HUGE roll of white butcher paper (affiliate link) online that fit perfectly.
To break this massive roll down to a manageable size that would fit under my workbench, I rolled it onto a 1" dowel until it was about 3" in diameter.
Then I created a bracket to mount under the end of the workbench. Cut two pieces of plywood to the width and depth of your paper roll, plus an inch of wiggle room. Join the two together to make an L shape.
Cut two pieces that will fit on the ends of the L bracket. Then, using a jig saw, cut out a channel for the dowel to slide into.
Attach the ends, then test to make sure the roll can move in and out easily. I added rubber chair tips to the ends of the dowel to keep it from slipping out, and to protect my hips from the inevitable bumps.
I attached my paper roll dispenser to the steel legs of my workbench, but you could also screw it to the underside of your workbench.
