Making use of space in a unique way to help make extra space when needed, not only on holidays but anytime you want extra space to set items whether it is a large gathering when a buffet style dinner is being done or if you just want to extend your space out for temporary use.
Since I have a small amount of counter space to work, I simply pull out a cabinet drawer and place a cutting board to use as extra room. I have a glass cutting board than is only about a 1/4 inch thick and serves for this purpose perfectly since I can still close the drawer if I need to temporarily.
This idea works great for baking or even buffet style gatherings. Since small appliances take up needed space this added space is so appreciated
during dinner preparation as well as afterwards for serving or even a space for carving a ham or turkey.
This is only one of my cabinet drawers pulled out, but i have used all the drawers pulled out for large gatherings. Since I have a row of cabinets, the extension of the drawers give a lot of extra space.
The cutting board (glass) is thin enough that I can still close the drawer till needed.
this is how the drawers look when several are extended at the same time. One more drawer was pulled out but it does not show up in the picture... but it really does help with the space to say the least.

Awesome idea!! We just bought a house with a huge kitchen and limited counter space. I decorate cakes so I need space. This idea is amazing!! Thanks so much!!
