Sometimes the process of starting a room makeover seems so daunting that it gets put off ~ year after year! Such was the case for my sister's kitchen. Over 20 years ago she had it professionally painted in her (then) favorite color of purple in a sponge painted technique.
She asked me to help give it a fresh new update, and I gladly stepped in.:) I assured her that a great transformation could take place without spending a lot of money. In fact, I made over one of our kitchens for under $200!
To start the process, we first emptied out every single cupboard, drawer, hutch, and pantry. We purged, donated, sold, and then saved only what she currently loves or uses. Then we organized the space so that the workflow of the kitchen matched her & her family's needs.
Then we got to the pretty stuff! We painted the walls a warm white ~ Whitetail by Sherwin Williams, with the peak wall in Urbane Bronze by Sherwin Williams.
An un-used cupboard was taken down and an open shelf coffee bar took its place.
Additional decor like an over-sized clock, patterned rug, and long white curtains finished off the look.
Come on over to the blog to see the whole process (which only took 7 days!) in more detail.
