Fruit and Vegetable Storage

3 Materials
I found these baskets on one of my many Dollar Store shopping trips. I grabbed a bunch because I was picturing the many ways I could use them. Of coarse, they can be planters but maybe hook them together and make bath toy storage, pet toy storage, or even a light fixture. If you put a fabric liner in them, they could be used for almost anything. I decided to use these 2 for fruit and veggie storage, I love that I am gaining counter space and for only $1.
Small eye hooks (sold at Lowes or Walmart)
Dollar store baskets
Wire cutters (optional)
To get started install your eye hook under the cabinet.
Use the wire cutters to shorten the chain length, if needed.
AND... You're done. It is that easy and only $1 a piece.

how do you prevent the contents in the baskets from falling through those wide openings?

Fm5 fabrications, that size screw may fight, but can you tell me if it would hold the weight of vegetables similar to what's shown? You seem to know cabinetry far better than I!

I've never seen these at our dollar stores. Love this idea! What dollar store did you find them in?

Potatoes and onions should be in a cool place, shaded, but yet get air. I keep mine in a bin in my laundry room. The bin has two shelves. Never combine them. I have the laundry room very cool and over the bins I have an ole' apron draped for darkness. The bins on the sides have vents, for the air to circulate. Garlic needs the same storage. I have it in a mesh bag, hanging on the back of a door in the shade. I don't have a root cellar or cellar, so this works for me. The hangin' baskets are nice for fruit and banana's.
