I don't have a pantry large enough or cabinet large enough to store the yellow plastic recycle bin. It's out in the open kitchen on the floor in the corner against two walls. I need ideas on how to hide it from view yet still accessible in the kitchen.

You could cover it with contact paper in a color or pattern that goes better with your kitchen.

Have you considered repainting it with plastic spray paint so that it does not stand out so much? Paint it the same color as the walls and it will blend in and not be noticable.

  • I purchased a stainless, removable insert, flip top trash can. Toss my recycle items in there then take outside to the monster sized bins we have.

You could mod podge with fabric or paper. Cover in contact paper. Paint it. Whatever works for your decor.

Is this container required by your trash collector?? If not, find 3 trash cans of same size, label the can (glass, etc.), then maybe you can put them in less visible areas. Such as, pantry, garage, etc... On trash collection day, combine the three cans.

I bought a tall leather look bin from HomeSense (similar to Home Goods), and it looks much better than a regular recycling bin.
