Lynda: have THEM take turns organizing it!
Oh Lynda, I can relate to your question! Depending on the other people it can be hard to organize however, I think it actually helps the others if items are always put in the same place. My first suggestion is to talk to them. Let them know that you can't read their mind and they can't read yours so to have a kitchen that every one can use, it's important to put items in the same place. Here are a couple of suggestions that may or may not work. First get together with them and decide where things will go. Sometimes just that step will really help. Then make labels for drawers, shelves, etc.
Consider taking action when things are not put in the right spot so that others can find that item. :) Put the item on the table where you all eat and ask them who used it last, then show that person where it's supposed to go for the sake of all of you. If neither of them will own up, have them take turns putting items away while you help them find the right spot. Keep a log, if you have to, so you can keep track of who's next. Don't act frustrated, just speak calmly and focus on the learning how to help the greater good so that everyone can consistently put items where the others can find them. Eventually they will get tired of playing this "game" and will hopefully get better at putting things where the other people using the kitchen can find them. Then again, maybe not. Wishing you success! - Linda
