How to increase storage over solid wall cabinets with 1 ft of space?

Outdated kitchen with 1 foot above 30” oak wall cabinets . I would like to find a way to add more storage in this area. Suggestions appreciated

    Target or Pier One Imports has foldable canvas or rattan bins that would fit and keep the kitchen looking neat. Break them up with a plant every so often to give a nice decorator look.

    Don't there will be very little useful storage there and u would be building in fall hazard. Here us an ingenious solution. Cut through the drywall and remove enough to give u the storage that u need between the studs that u build shelves in then cover the opening with cabonet doors thatvu can order pre-made

      Yes they would be shallow but u would not believe how much they hold thus freeing up more space in your main cabinet. I did this in a kitchen I was remodeling and the owner loved it

    You can try adding one foot cabinets in that space and paint or stain to compliment the existing cabinets.
