You can buy wire holders that stick on with rubber suction cups and allows the sponge to drain and dry. Actually sponges are one of the most unsanitary items in the kitchen. Germs and bacteria. We use small dish rags. If you use a sponge, it should be put in the dishwasher to kill germs.
All you need is a plastic basket from the dollar store and some rubber suction cups. These are very inexpensive and you can order one on Amazon.
Bought one at the dollar store yesterday. Cheaper to buy than make. Now if you want something crafty, they are a popular ceramics item at craft fairs. What is your style? Farmhouse, industrial?
