Turn Those Christmas Tins Into Pantry Storage

You know those pallets of Christmas tins you've seen in the stores? The ones filled with cookies and popcorn? Those are the same tins that often end up on thrift store shelves in January, once the popcorn and cookies are gone, but for me, they solved the problem.
Our old farmhouse has lots of nooks and crannies and mice sometimes find their way in...straight to our pantry. I decided to put those Christmas tins to good use to keep those critters at bay, but I wanted to dress them up for use inmy pantry shelves.
I created some label designs to use on my tins, to turn the tins into chalkboards.
And now my tins are critter-proof, with a chalkboard style I love! Get the full tutorial with printables from Knick of Time at the link below.

Would the food contained inside absorb the taste of the tin or do you keep the food in it's original packaging?

The tins are also good for trash cans, the shopping bags fit nicely in them, my husband uses one in his truck cause it doesn't tip over. I also use them to store my cat food in and their bags of cat nip. Can also use them to hold flower pots in on a patio or porch,
