First is signage! Use all the same color. Just arrows. Addresses aren't needed. I group things together. Have a men's section, children's also. Put all the same type of kitchen items together. Pots, pans, utensils. Then dishes. Big things to the sides. Shiney things out front to catch the reflection and eye. If you price items, put your high number so you can come down.

Borrow tables or make them from saw horses and sheets of plywood. Set up in a store type fashion as best you can. The better it looks, the more money you can fetch.
when setting up tables put like items together, if it is linens or clothes fold and sort.I never put prices on items as they tend to talk the cost down, display legible large signs and put arrows directing the cars to your location, if possible remove your cars from the area to add parking
consider parking a few expensive cars nearby and over price everything.
perhaps price nothing and decide value on the spot.
Group like items together. It is what it is...a yard sale. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Thanks for your advice. We followed many of your tips to make a good sale and get rid of many things before selling your home. However, we had to use junk removal in South Florida as well, as many of the items were in a terrible state and would not have been bought.
