Hello Bernie, In the short term - Try a Cardboard box to enclose it! In the long term, make a timber frame around it. Panel out the frame. Either make a window or a hinged/Lift out or sliding door to access information required on dials.
First check with your utility companies. Some allow it, some don't. Where I live it is not allowed, which I think is ridiculous as it is all read by computers. See if these help you.

What can I do in this outdoor space to hide utility boxes/cables/etc?
If it's not allowed or needs to be accessed, you might be able to paint it to blend into your house color. I love disguising ugly stuff with paint.
