I bought several wooden signs at a Family Dollar store a few years ago. They were simple and sweet. I didn't know what I was going to do with them at the time, but recently they spoke to me...

The first thing I did was cut a fence picket into the necessary pieces.

I cut 2 pieces the length of the sign. I then cut 2 pieces 5 1/2" long from the dog eared end of the picket. I trimmed those to be 4" wide.

Next, I began to assemble the pieces, using wood glue on all joined sides.

I used other pieces of wood to support the bottom while I prepared to staple them together using my air compressor.

This is what it looks like turned right side up.

Lastly, I laid the piece on it's back, applied glue to the front edges of the end pieces, and adhered the sign to the end pieces. The bricks were used as weights and left on overnight.

It easily fits 3 pairs of my chunky flips and 4 pairs of smaller ones.
