DIY Copper Pipe Magazine Holder

I love copper in my home decor. I already made a copper pipe planter a few weeks ago, and today, I'm sharing the tutorial of how I made a magazine holder from copper pipe. It's surprisingly easy to make. With only a few basic tools from the home improvement store, you can cut copper pipe down to size easily. Here's a schematic breakdown of the dimensions of this magazine holder. Of course, you could adjust the sizes to fit your preferences.
I picked this fabric to go with my magazine holder. I wanted a fabric that contrasted nicely with the cool copper color of the pipes. I actually used this blue stripe fabric on other projects around the house, so I have a few yards of it left over in my craft room!
Here it is by the fireplace! It was so easy to hang the fabric on the copper pipe "rods". Since I don't sew, I used iron-on hem tape to secure the edges of the fabric. I created two rod pockets on the fabric that easily slid onto the copper pipe. And since I didn't use glue on the copper pipe connections, I can easily slide the fabric off and wash it or replace it!
I love the way it came out! It matches my decor perfectly!

It can also be used as a log holder by a fireplace.

Thirty years ago, I used this idea to make a rack for logs. We heat with an air tight stove and I wanted a sturdy rack for the nightly stash of wood. I used 1" copper pipe in a similar configuration. The rack is now "antiqued" from the passing of time, but it is sturdy and looks great next to the stove.
