DIY Flat Iron Cover

Easy
I got tired of my flat iron hanging out on my counter after I used it. Actually, I had to put it on my kitchen counter because my bathroom is so small. I made this really easy flat iron cover so I could put it away before it completely cooled. The best part is that it just took a few minutes and only cost $1!
I found a large hot pad in a cute pattern at the dollar store. They have a lot of cute patterns there, or you can use the solid side on the back.

I don't sew except to put patches on my kids' uniforms, but I decided to sew this. You could also use hot glue, but I think I had this done before my glue gun would have heated up.
I folded the hot pad in half and stitched the side together. I also stitched the bottom together so I could slide my flat iron inside without it falling through.

I used what I think is called a straight stitch. Again, I do now sew, so I'm not sure what it's called.

I put the loop at the top on the open end, so I can hang my flat iron up in my cupboard.
