DIY Pallet Wood Wall Hooks

I took some old pallet wood and turned it into these really adorable wall hooks for my son's bedroom. It's the perfect place to hang costumes and hats, and he loves that he has a dedicated place for them now! It's a super quick project, and the basic technique can be applied to a ton of different designs. If you like this project, you can see more easy & affordable DIY ideas on my blog!
The first thing I did was cut my wood down to the desired size (I used pallet wood, but you can use anything you have - I recommend sticking to 1" thick boards). I used 3 boards for the front of the hooks - I stained two of them, and on the third I added my son's name. on the third I added my son's name.

To do this, I just painted it white and then used graphite transfer paper to trace his name onto the board. I then used a black paint marker to fill it in.
Once my boards were finished, I drilled them onto two support boards with the white board sandwiched between the two stained boards. I used 2x4s for the support boards, but I'd recommend using 1" boards instead.
Once I had the boards attached, I added a variety of knobs, hooks, and drawer pulls to it. I wanted a kind of random, eclectic look so I just gathered a bunch of mismatched hardware (but kept it all in the gold family) and attached them with screws.
Once it was all done, I hung it up in his room! It was a really simple and fast project, and he loves having it! For more details, you can see the full blog post here.
