Want a fun way to store your paintbrushes? Fancy adding some color to the place where you store your art supplies? This project is quick and easy - and if you like painting, you probably already have all the materials you need.
For this project you'll need a mason jar large enough to hold your brushes, a good amount of pink acrylic paint, and a paint brush or sponge to apply the paint.

If you're not a fan of pink, feel free to experiment with different colors - or create several jars using complementary shades.
I started by squeezing a moderate amount of paint onto the front of the jar. It's easier to lie the jar on one side at the start of the painting process.

Avoid using too much paint, or just might struggle to get even coverage. Equally, don't use too little or the color will be very faint.
I used a paint brush to cover the entire jar, keeping all my strokes in the same horizontal direction to stop the jar from looking messy.

It's easiest to hold your jar from the inside towards the end of the project, or you might smudge the paint you've already applied.

I left the paint to dry before applying a second layer. The number of layers you need will vary according to the paint you're using, but 2 - 3 layers should usually provide good coverage.
The finished project is this lovely, cheerful jar that's perfect for storing brushes ahead of your next masterpiece. If the room you store your art supplies in is quite plain, these jars are a great way to add a little accent color.
This easy painted mason jar great craft to get kids involved with during summer vacation since it's quick, easy, and doesn't use many materials. Getting kids involved in art storage might also encourage them to clean up after their own projects!
