Is your kitchen counter cluttered? Do you need more cupboard space? I made this easy farmhouse baskets wall organizer to clear off items from the counter and move them to the wall. It was really easy and cheap to put together - I only spent about $25 bucks on the whole thing! And now I have a little less clutter to deal with, which I count as a success!
Farmhouse Wire Baskets Wall Organizer DIY
I started by buying three rustic metal farmhouse style baskets at Walmart for about $7 each. They are sold out online, but you can still buy them in the actual stores. They are called the "Better Homes and Gardens Wire Oval Basket" on walmart.com. To see the ones I bought, check out the full post on the blog, Girls Build Club.
Gather your supplies! You'll need a drill/driver,scrap wood, 6-8 screws, 3 baskets, and 3M Command Damage-Free Picture Hanging Strips.  Get the heavy duty kind – 16lb rating or stronger.
Six screws to hang the baskets from.
I grabbed a piece of scrap wood I already had, and eyed the spacing for the baskets. What I did was simply drive the screws into the wood but left the heads sticking out a bit so the edge of the basket could hook onto the screw heads and hang. You could also use smaller coat hooks to hang the baskets.
Then I tested out the baskets on the screws to make sure I got the spacing right and the baskets were actually going to stay put. Everything looked good, so then I hung it in the kitchen and it now holds all our kitchen towels and clothes. Initially, I hung it on the wall with 3M Command Strips and it worked for a while, but really, Command Strips are meant to be used on flat, smooth surfaces and my piece of scrap wood was neither! So after a few months I screwed the wall organizer onto the wall so I wouldn't have to worry about it coming detached.
Voila! All done and finished. What will you put in your wall organizer? It could help you out in the kitchen or hold some toiletries in the bathroom perhaps. Check out the full tutorial on the blog, Girls Build Club, and don't forget to post photos of your own version. I'd love to see it!
