Faux Aged Metal Storage Box

My friends and I participate in a each month. For February's challenge our theme was metallic paint.

I gave a plain wooden craft box an aged metal finish with paint. I love how it turned out!
You can find these plain wooden storage boxes at most craft stores. This one is the perfect size for 8.5 x 11 papers. We plan to store important instruction manuals in it that otherwise end up in random places all over the house!
First, I painted the box black with acrylic craft paint.
Then, I used a chip brush and a stencil brush to dry brush silver paint to look scratched metal. To learn more about the dry brushing technique, you can visit my blog.
Lastly, I printed a label tag on brown kraft paper in a typewriter font.

I love how this project turned out! For more information on project materials and step by step instructions, as well as other great DIYs, stop by my blog!
