Ironing Board Shelf
We were given a fairly new ironing board that was very inexpensive and not made very sturdy. So instead of using it for it’s obvious purpose, we took the legs off to make a shelf!
The first thing we did was to take off the pad and asked a neighbor to cut off the legs with his handy dandy metal cutter.
Then we spray painted it with this type of spray paint, only in a darker color. You could use whatever color matched your color theme.
Next, a mirror was added to the top of the ironing board. This particular mirror had bendable metal pieces that held the mirror in place to its frame. I pushed those through the holes in the ironing board and it held the mirror in place very securely. Also added ( but not pictured) to the top was a chain to hang it from.
To attach the metal shelf to the board, zip ties were used and then the excess of the tie was cut off close to the back of the board.

And here it is! This would be great in a bedroom to put your hairdryer, curling iron and hair products in the shelves and hang scarves or necklaces off of the hooks at the bottom!

Absolutely love this idea. I want to make one for my ensuite. Great for renters. Could be easily hung over top of showers screens or curtain rail rod or door using S hooks. Great even for kids play room organise crafts with more shelves/racks attached. Hang on back of bedroom door for storing anything from hats belts jewelry umbrellas device cords ect. Or hold extra toilet rolls cleaning product's. Thanks for the inspiration. Be keeping my eye out at hard rubbish times. Always getting thrown out. Ohhhh could make one up for a fishing lover. Hokd rids tackle reels etc etc. On wall horizontal behind home bar. Threadbwith fairy lights peg photos to it..on pantry door hang lil tubs store spice packs glad wrap foil. On wall o rr fence outside..hang plants herbs ect off it or attach to roif of pergola thread fairy lights and planted peppermint lavender rosemary basil from ti naturally deter flies mozzies spiders and other flying bugs. YOU ARE GENIUS I AM AFRAID MY HOME MAY SOON BE COVERED IN IRONING BOARDS LOL
