Packing Tape Labels

I don't know about you but I love the look of an organized pantry. Labels, acrylic and organization are my middles names! When I came across this label hack I had to share it! All you need in a printed word document, packing tape and water!
First thing first, you will need to type out your words for labels on word, photoshop or whatever program you are comfterable with. No need for fancy paper, just use plain ol' printer paper and ink. Cut out your words.
Take a regular packing tape (I used ultra clear) and place it over your word.
Take a credit card and press hard to rub the into onto the tape. This is the most important step! Peel it off your table and cut off the access tape on the sides.
Now drop it into a bowl of water. Let the label sit in the water for 1 minute to loosen the paper. Once the label is saturated, begin to rub off all the paper backing. You'll be left with just the text!
Let the label dry completely. It will return to it's sticky state and you'll be able to attach it to anything!!!
I did this trick first in my pantry with a few air tight jars I had.
I also made little labels for my k-cups and sugar to display beside my Keurig.
Lastly, I made a little design for my makeup brush holder and my cotton ball jar. The best part about this is it can be used with colored ink. The possibilities are seriously endless and it's the quickest DIY EVER! I'm 100% obsessed. Now, I'm off to label my entire apartment (:

I tried it with an ink jet printer and 90% of the ink came off as well as the paper. Maybe she used a different type of printer?? I do love the idea mentioned earlier in questions to use translucent / clear mailing labels!! (Feel daft that I didn't think of this all this time)đŸ˜‰

I think the tape makes the difference. I'm gonna try it with "miracle tape".

Wait wait wait. Is that an inkjet or a laser printer? I have found that makes a big difference in crafting! But I love your idea!
Would it not work even more efficiently to just print the labels on large, clear mailing address stickers?
You mentioned printer paper and ink, so am I right to assume you used an inkjet printer that uses liquid ink as opposed to a laser printer that uses colored powder (toner)? I love the project and am very anxious to give it a try!
