I use command hooks in our closet

Hello Blanche, many friends like the Command Hooks in the link below. I haven't purchased just yet.

I screwed a metal hook inside the closet for mine. You can even tie a piece of string through the hole on the broom to make it easier to hang and remove.
I drilled holes in all of my garden tools then threaded a piece of twine, or shoelace, leather boot lace what ever you had in a large enough loop to fit on a hook. Use command hooks to put where you want to hang, not expensive about $1.00 each and can hang on any surface without ruining it and can be removed. Hang in closet. Many hold up to 25# so choose the strength you want. Easy peasy. I use the small metal hooks for appliance cords. I bought a roll of velcro and make a coil out of appliance cords. Stick a command hook on back of toaster, mixer coffee pot etc and hang cord on the hook. they are hidden when not in use.
I use "S" hooks for mine. My mop and broom came with the hole predrilled in their handles, so I just hang it over the bottom of the "S". The dustpan attaches to the broom handle.
what I did for my elderly mom is I used a nail for her mop and one for her broom and put them up in her laundry room at her height and she has no problem getting them down off just a large nail
I am also dealing with arthritis in my hands and shouders. I found that open hooks (they look like a U) works best for me. That way the broom just sits in place there is no tugging our pulling on it needed.
I have a nail or two on the back of my laundry room door and just hang the mop and broom on there. The holes in the handle are already there.
3M makes a Command Broom and Mop Gripper. They come 2 in a pack. Clean your wall and put up. Wait 24 hours before using. I was in a severe accident that damaged my hands, I'm unable to grip or make a fist. I can use these very easily. You just push to grip, pull to release. Here's the Amazon link but you can get them at Target and WalMart.

I got a metal hook holder and I hang my broom and mops on it with a pull zip tie. I had to drill a hole in my broom handle, the rest had built in holes.
Great question. I’m going check back to see what is suggested. Unless it’s hanging from a loop/ pierced top handle —-you can fight with those tight snap attachments.
I would suggest purchasing some of these flip-up broom handle holders. They are durable, fit handles of different heights, yet are easy to use.
Change to old fashioned Hooks or Coat hooks instead.

Another vote for Command hooks - easy to put up and inexpensive too
Hi Blanche, you can drill PVC pipe into the wall and slip your brooms and mops into the pipes.
Put up a strip of 1" x 4" lumber. Use long finish nails to hang the brooms and mops etc. They will be very easy to hang and remove.
Drill a hole using 1/8" bit at the top of each broom or mop about an 1" down from the top. Then get some large finish nails and hammer them in the side of the closet to hang them on.
Or hang some large command hooks in the closet, and put a leather shoelace through the handle holes and tie off a loop to hang the broom and mop up with.
HAVE SHOWER CURTAIN RING EXTRA SECURITY ,USED DUCT TAPE ON THE CLOSURE. SO FAR IS WORKING AND NEAT LOOKING
