I try to keep the original box or packaging an ornament or decoration comes in, and then use large, clear totes to store everything together under our stairs. Because the totes are clear, I can tell what's in them without having to drag them out just to remove the lid.

    Louise,

I just say a great post giving all sorts of ideas. I remembered a few.

...Egg cartons for ornaments...then place in larger box.

...Snap bracelets to hold wrapping paper closed and then stored in a gym bag.

...Shoe boxes for small gift bags.

...Hang wreaths on a coat hanger, pull over a small plastic garbage bag...slitting a hole in bottom of bag to put hanger hook through, then tie together at bottom!

...Wrap small trees in saran wrap, leaving ornaments & lights in place!

Christmas items store well in clear plastic bins. I have them labeled with what is inside and stacked on wooden IKEA shelves in my basement. Everything is organized and easy to find.
