Divide by type of decoration: lights, bulbs, etc. Put each type in large plastic storage bins, label, and stack in cool dry area. If you still have too much it may be time to set aside what you really want, then call family to see if they want some of it. If no takers: have a yard sale or donate to a thrift store.

You can purchase under the bed boxes and store some of your Christmas things there. If you have an attic, get cardboard boxes or plastic bins and store there. Line your shelves in the closet with plastic boxes.

Hi Donna.....I have a good friend that loves her Christmas decorations....to the point of saying she hoards them. :) She doesn't have kids, so she has lots of family over the holidays.

She has one spare room that is used for guests. The entire closet is full of boxes and bins of Christmas things. She also has four flat plastic bins that roll under her bed. Some go in the attic.

You might want to take a weekend and go through all your things. Taking a phrase from the "Konmari" de-cluttering book. The author suggests looking at each item and asking "does it bring you joy?" It will take a while, but you might make more space.

Good luck, and Merry Christmas early! 151 days to go!

Maybe donate some of the items to a nursing home... they would love it!

I have everything in those plastic gallon storage bins in the garage, and I have it organized by room. It's easy for me to decorate because I just do it room by room (or tree by tree).
