I wrap mine around a device made for storing commercial extension cords. You can find them in the tool/hardware dept. of Lowes or Home Depot. I leave my outdoor lights all plugged together in their sections and label them for the individual areas. Works great!

Wrapping them around cardboard is an excellent way to store them. You can cut up an old box to the a size that will fit into the container you are planning to store the lights with the lights wrapped around it. Maybe tape down the end with red tape so you can unwind them easily next season.

People take their Christmas lights down? Lol

I don't take down the lights that are 30 feet from the ground.

Those lights have slowly moved from colorful, to pastel, to clear.

Wrap them around a cylindrical box like a pringles can.

Use a piece of cardboard and wrap each length of lights around the cardboard. You can then store all the wrapped lights on cardboard in a plastic bin. It keeps them untangled and the bulbs safe.
