Storing them one inside the other helps. Just be careful if you put them on hooks on a wall. I did that with straw hats, thinking I could decorate with them as well, and now some are misshapen. -

Knit hats can be packed into boxes or plastic bins. Baseball caps can be hung usually just below the ceiling. Cowboy hats are a bit trickier as they require more space. A hat box with a ring inside and then place the hat upside down with the hat fitting inside the ring. If you are looking for storage for something like a hardhat they stack easily as do berates. -
