As for your garage , shelves , large plastic racks , are cheap and go a long way !!! If you have the money , they make great wall system storage. Also racks that hang from the ceiling, to give you more floor space , strips that attach to the walls that can hold a variety of things like garden tools, even bikes !
for the screened in porch, we framed 4x8 foot boxed frames, using 2x4s. On the bottom half we added siding. On the top, we framed in "screens" using sunscreen. They easily fit inside the frames, can be removed, or you might put hinges on the top of the screens so they can be raised up.
Not sure if you get the idea but it's the best picture I can find.
