What can I use this space for?
What can I use these two top very high, very shallow approx 3.5 in (9cm) spaces for in my new kitchen? They will be behind doors shared with the lower shelves. I do keep a step ladder. But it is too impractical for a spice rack. There is boxed plumbing behind.

How about putting your serving trays up against the back wall. The things you only use on holidays.
For me that would be a great place to store trays and cookie sheets. Things that I don't use all the time and don't need regular access too. You could attach a few metal rods, or a few wooden dowels going across to hold them in.
Genius thanks!
I'd add lights in there and stained glass doors for a wonderful accent light.
I would use them like easels to display your family's photos or artwork...simply rest the artwork/photos against the back wall and change them out often.
Dee & Tuula has the best ideas (you’d need to incorporate Tuula’s method with Dee’s idea - but these would be perfect places for thin serving graying or sheets not used often. Best of luck.
