I had rolls of tape all over the workshop, and I would pick up more when I went to the store, thinking I needed it.

To sort this problem out I made a rack for my rolls of tape.

I had no wood wide enough so I jointed one edge of some boards on the table saw and then put some wood glue on the edge.

The boards could be clamped together and when the glue had dried I ran them through the planner to clean them up.

As I had many different sizes of tape, I wanted the sides of the rack to have a taper to them. So that at the top it would be as wide as the small rolls and at the bottom as wide as the large ones.

I also marked out a curve at the top.
I then took the pieces to the bandsaw to cut the tapper and the curve.
With both sides cut I clammed them together in the vice and sanded them together.

I could then cut down some shelves to the correct length.

I wanted the shelves to me mounted at an angle so the tape would not roll off. I cut a scrap of wood at the desired angle and then cut that angle along the backs of the shelves.

I laid out the rolls of tape on to side and used the scrap piece of angled wood to mark to position of the shelves. I could then put some wood glue in place.

The shelves could then be nailed into place.

For the back of the unit I used some T&G cladding scraps I had. I cut these to length and had to rip the last piece down to fit.

The cladding then got glued and nailed onto the back of the shelves.
I did not put an angle on the top shelf as I wanted to keep balls of string on it. I gave it all a sand down and then drilled some holes for some dowels to go into.

The dowels could be glued and tapped into the top shelf. Balls of sting could be slid over these.
I had some left over stain so gave the unit a coat of it.

When the stain had dried I brushed on some wax and buffed it off.

Thats it all done. Please watch my video for more information. If you enjoyed the video please subscribe to my YouTube video for a new project every week.

Oh that is too funny. It reminds me of the time my step mom kept buying raisins because she thought she needed them. I swear she had 5 costco sized bags before she stopped.

That is a very nice rack You need some clear packing tape on it too. I could even use that to display my ribbon to see at a glance what I need to add or have to use.
