We have a rather narrow deck that sits 9' off the ground. There is a dense patch of trees directly behind our property giving the feeling that we are nestled in a tree house. Each morning we sit out there and enjoy our coffee and breakfast.

Yum!
I wanted to give this empty deck some serious deck appeal bringing the indoors out.
My husband, Jeff, created an outdoor curtain rod made of pvc pipes and fittings. The curtains move easily across the pipe. Oh how I love that man of mine!
The curtains have the appearance of linen however they are polyester. We can still see through them when they are pulled to diffuse the harsh sunlight.
This rug is just the right color and pattern needed on our deck to give it that warm and cozy feeling.
Simple and uncluttered works every time.
This view is looking up from ground level. The 16' black and white striped awning provides shade to the patio down below. It extends out 10'. Definitely needed in these hot summer days! As you see we do not have stairs which is more secure as well as allowing us the option to have our pets outdoors in a more secure location.

I love the added curtains, I bet you spend all your time out there in this weather!!

We are out there quite often! Although these curtains are not made for the outdoors, they have held up well. I love the linen look and that we can see through them! We installed some cool hold backs to keep the curtains from blowing around during storms. Otherwise, I welcome the movement!
