This Spring deck makeover (it's Spring now in New Zealand) may give you some ideas for your own deck or patio makeover...

There were two things to finish before the reveal...That was to refurbish both the cane two-seater couch,And the outdoor dining table and chairs. To refurb the two-seater cane couch, I painted it with chalkpaint.I did this at the same time I was upcycling the little side table.

This is how the side table turned out complete with stencilled leaves. Visit this post link to visit for the tutorial on that...

I purchased some outdoor canvas fabric in a fabulous fresh green palm design and made an envelope style cushion cover. Envelope cushions are very easy to make, and are great for outdoor furniture for easy removal to wash. But the advantage of using an outdoor canvas fabric is that its waterproof, and you can just wipe off any marks.

The old oak table and chairs were in desperate need of TLC.

I painted it in chalk paint. Graphite for the top and Old White for the legs.

The chairs were also needing attention...so I painted those Graphite chalk paint.

This is how it turned out. I am a huge chalk paint fan so I was not sorry to see the wood look disappear.

The chair seats were covered in the same palm outdoor canvas as the cane two seater.

I added a few new accessories - like this enamel outdoor candle lantern. Bought in a sale an costing just $15.

And two baskets with rope handles for holding balls, cushions and throws.

Then added found items and already had things.

The anchor DIY picture has a link on the blog if you want to make it.

The pots are plastic. So light to move if needed. I bought four to liven up the whole deck. The yellow flower is an annual called Viola Penny Yellow. It's a great pot annual as it flowers continuously!

So that is my Side Deck Spring Makeover. I hope you can get a few ideas from it. Meanwhile I am going to be enjoying summer alfresco dining here!
