This is a quick, simple pillow cover that doesn't involve piecing the material cuts together like a puzzle. It involves only 4 seams!
This project is for an 18 x 18 pillow but you can apply the technique to meet your pillow project.

I wanted to decorate my porch but didn't want to purchase new pillows so I bought some material and got started.
Material for this project is 40 x 19 inches.
Sew the raw edges on the 2 ends (not the sides of the material) for a finished edge. This is seam 1 and seam 2.
Fold over about 4 inches of the wrong/reverse side of material onto the right/pretty of the material. The finished length is now 36 inches. I started with 40 inches and folded over 4 inches.
When the 36 inches is folded in half, each length will be 18 inches. Pillow is 18 inches in length. The width is still 19 inches. This will be 18 inches when finished because of 1/2 inch seam on each side. 1/2 inch x 2 =1 inch. 19 inches -1 inch is 18 final inches. Pillow is 18 inches wide.
Fold the 2 right sides together and sew up the sides. Seams 3 and 4.
After sewing up the sides, turn the material right side out. You will have the envelope flap with wrong side of material facing you. You are getting there in a BLINK!
Start stuffing the pillow into the new cover.
Pull the envelope flap, which was wrong side showing, over the pillow.

Smooth it all out and you have a pillow cover in a blink!icon
