Ice Candle Holder for Outdoors Decor

Add some light outside this winter with an ice candle holder. It is super simple and all you need is an old ice cream pale and a battery-powered candle.
Fill the bucket mostly full of water and set it in a freezer or outside. Let it set for about 24 hours. Don't let it freeze complete solid. Remove the ice structure and poke a hole in the top to drain any remaining water. Set it outside and place a battery-powered candle inside (ie real flames wouldn't do so well in ice!).
You can do variations by adding in pine needles, pine cones, and other items. The trick is getting the stuff to sink in the water!

Freeze the water in large metal containers like large coffee cans. When frozen, drill holes in the can in your choice of designs. Remove ice and proceed as described here for winter outdoor lighting. For summer, spray paint the cans and place candles/lights in them. They look really nice lighting the driveway or walkway.
