I wanted to add some lights to my fire pit area so I did it a really simple way but now needed something to cover up my planters and this is what I came up with!!

Supplies Needed

• saw

• tape measure

• Air nailer

• paint

• 4-6. 1”x4”x8’ (depending on how big you want your box to be)

• 1-3 1”x3x 8’ (again depending on size and how many you are needing)

• know the size of your planter your covering

Step 2

cut your boards all the same length ( we used 16 pieces per box )

and start nailing them together as shown in the picture

Step 3

In this step, you need to decide how far apart you will want your “boxes” to be from one another. I did them about a 1/4” apart! You will also have to cut your corner pieces accordingly making sure your spacing and boards are accounted for! Once you have your boards cut your ready for the next step.

Step 4

We were a little excessive with the nails( new nailer) but we found what worked. These holes can be cover with wood filler as well if you’d like. Find your placement and than nail on the rest of the “boxes”

Step 5

here is when you get to decide if you want to stain them or paint them, fill in the nail holes etc. Once that is done you are ready to place them over your planters.

Finished, the planter is hidden and I found a trailing plant to fill it out as the summer progresses!!
