I think some crawling ivy on trellis would be nice. Also, wall planters (in white) in between the neat arches. Those are really pretty!

I have always been told that ivy that begins to grow on stone is like or has "sucker" roots and will eventually dry out the bricks or stone and make them crumble.

You have a beautiful home! I'd just start by getting some color on it. You're fortunate to have such neutral brick, your choices are endless. If it were me, everything that isn't brick would get a coat of my favorite color. You'll need to find the right shade of your choice, too subdued will not add any interest and too bold will make you look like an amusement park. After painting, start decorating just like you would an indoor space. Outdoor wall art, plants, furniture, statuary...

Paint the wood near the roof a darker color. I would try and get that area to fade away. It is competing with the Spanish style elements. I would play those up. Larger exterior lighting. A large blue or green pot by the entry gate planted up with a tall rosemary and some trailing pink geraniums. Maybe a ceramic birdbath in the yard ? I would also consider planting tall vertical plants in front of the two windows. The plants could help set off the chimney and shade the windows. Look to Santa Fe and Mexico for style ideas and adjust plantings to your local area.
