How can I "pretty up" this mailbox?

I hate this mailbox but I don't want to add to our landfill by replacing it. What can I do to turn this ugly duckling into a beautiful swan?
You can try something like this!
Very nice! or paint it another color, and plant some flowering vines (morning glories, clematis, honeysuckle)
You could also make a slipcover with a patterned vinyl fabric that you attach velcro to for easy removal for cleaning or exchanging out for the seasons.

Paint it and decorate it with silk flowers or glue on beads, appliques, etc.
