How do I know how big or little to make a fairy house?
I would like to make some fairy houses with my granddaughter but I don't know what size is right. I would like to make furniture for the inside and make some outside furniture also. Also how do I make it so I can change furniture around and add little homey touches that the fairies will make to make this their home. My granddaughter will be checking to see if the fairies are using it.

Consider the place where you will keep it and the age appropriateness of your grand daughter (small children put small items in their mouth, where as for elementary age or preteen any size would suit them). Also, there are several size items available in the craft sections of department stores that carry crafts. I made two. One is the size of two wood chairs put together and one is tiny to fit in a birdbath size cement holder. Also, consider if you will work with light weight material or go with clay/cement for the base to paint.
Here are two with ideas for you to consider:

Fairy Garden Miniature
Go on Pinterest. I am making a tree house out of a cylinder moving carton about four feet tall. Intend to cut it in half. Trying to figure how to hinge so I can open and close it. Pinterest has every thing and can store ideas until you are ready to use them.
Hello Anita! Depending how small, get some graph paper that is either 1/4" or 1/2" square grid. Hobby Lobby or Micheals or and art supply shop will have it. I prefer the 1/4", but for a fairy garden, 1/2" might be a better scale. 1/2" will equal 1 square foot. Sketch out any walls or furniture on the paper to keep your measurement scale in proportion. If you use twigs and branches or other raw elements, you can use the paper like a ruler to keep them approximately the same size for assembly. Have fun! I used this system when making gingerbread villages. Send pictures when you're done!
