Hi Onnie! I have string lights on my patio. For obvious reasons I don't use solar because, well, there's no sun to recharge them there! I do have solar lights out on the decking outside however. The only thing with Solars that I've had, and I've purchased some better quality ones, is that they just don't give off enough light, though they are pretty. If you have an electrical outlet out there, I don't see any problems with that at all. if you need to use an outdoor extension cord, just be certain it's meant for exterior use. I hope the helps!
First do you have outdoor electric available? If you do, use them! When using string lights, take care to read the instuctions as how many sets of string lights can be strung together safely. If you have good sun exposure, use as many solar lights as you want. I purchase the all metal, all glass solar lights with rechargeable batteries. A little bit more expensive, but for me worth it. The cheapie plastic ones faded and became "cloudy" and were never bright enough. Then you have a graveyard of cheapie things to recycle, nope, not wasting my money. Many times they will give the "lumens" rating on the box. The more lumens the brighter the light also a bit more money up front. I have the solars everywhere . . . Frony yard, front walk, in a catus planter on the side of the driveway, on the backyard lining the planting beds, in my herb garden, sticking in pots on the patio. If I ever get the opportunity, I want to fly over my house at night, place is lit up well! So go ahead and light up your life! 😎
thank you Susan, I will do so as I do have plenty of outlets and I do agree the Solars just don't put out as much light and a little disappointing . I plan to use the large white round globes. I have several and hope to figure to have them on th ground yet some how safe. Thank t
