My front porch is close to road. How can I decorate my yard and porch?

My front porch is close to the road and I hardly have any front yard and/or grass in front of my house. The house we live in is very old and has the old iron columns, too. They're an eyesore. I want my porch to be welcoming, but at same time I would like to do something about 20 feet from my front porch for privacy. How can I do this without having to spend a lot of money?

You can put up lattices and plant vining plants. I find ornamental grape fines the easiest and hardiest to grow in all climates. You might try twisting flexible copper pipe around your steel columns to change up the look a bit and give a couple more vining plants something to climb. Your columns would effectively be disguised as lush greenery.

Maybe few large planters n Some decorative trees to hide columns, few long box planters on or in front of porch
