Tom also made the trellis, over the deck, for my grape leaves. He did it years ago, and has shifted. Looks as if he didn't use a level, which he did. Also, there was a possum hanging around on top of the grape leaves, on the trellis!

I love this idea! I might suggest putting another layer of latticework on top of the existing layer. We did this, because we get some intense hail storms during the summer here in Colorado, and it really helped. Our trumpet vine is getting pretty heavy too, so it added some additional support.
