I live out in the country on a semi-quiet road and I like to decorate my mailbox with seasonal items. I literally put each season together in less than 15 minutes!

Here's my huge mailbox. I have solar lights on it 24/7 and love that at night. Maybe keeps someone from plowing into it! Our mail carrier was super happy when we upgraded to a larger box. You would be surprised just how many Amazon items she can layer inside.

For the summer season, a trip to the Dollar Store over various visits produced: a bow (two to a package), ribbon, star garland, leis (3 to a package) and two blue flowers.

I first went down and measured my ribbon length around the mailbox. I either tie a wide ribbon around the box and make a bow or I use the wide ribbon to pin or wire objects on. Using thin wire and scissors I attached the leis first.

I just doubled each lei and pinned them down the center with the wire.

Then I went back down to the mailbox and tied the ribbon on. I then wrapped the star garland around and around (it's a good length of garland). I wired the bow and flowers on and now I'm ready for the June-August season. Usually, even with a wind the garland ends up lasting the season and not too faded. I would twine the lights up in the ribbon but it gets too hard to untangle, especially since the light string is really long.

For Fall I used a burlap strip I found at the Dollar Store. I added silk poppies and sunflowers. The bow was 50 cents from Walmart clearance.

My gate gets decorated as well. Here I used a garland of silk fall leaves and hung my fall sign. The garland stays through Sept-November. If any of my fellow country/rural hometalkers have a John Deere green gate: I can't afford wrought iron so I spray painted my green gate black! I used cheap 99 cent matte finish spray cans. It's holding up well and looks so much better.

Some kittens and eyeballs for Halloween. My gate gets a sign and some skeletons!

I found this cute puppy and decided to slip him into my wreath. I surrounded solar lights all around the wreath and added some pinecones and shiny ornaments. Red ribbon finishes it off.

$2 (Dollar Tree)! Burlap ribbon that has a finished edge with wire...a big plus and one bunch of silk carnations.

More Dollar Store. This truck is made from light weight wood so I sprayed a protective coat on it. Then I used last year heart as it had not faded and embellished with ribbon. (Looks like this on both sides of my mailbox).
