DIY Outdoor Living Magazine Embellishes A Fence With Stencils

We were super excited to see one of our most popular flower stencils featured in one of our favorite outdoor special interest magazines, Do It Yourself Outdoor Living. Come join us as we rehash all the juicy details of this stencil sighting.
DIY Outdoor Living Magazine features the Dandelion Stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils to dress up a plain fence.
Although the title of this article is On The Fence, it appears that Outdoor Living Magazine is totally on-board with the idea of stenciling. This creative article focuses on outdoor structures, specifically fences. The publication writes, "Plain pine planks get fancy with playful embellishments that will leave you happy to be penned in."
On page 108, the crafty publication suggests that readers consider stenciling their white picket fences with our playful Dandelion Stencil. It says, " Adding a nature-inspired stencil -- think bird, tree, or flower -- to a white fence is an easy way to make a big impact." For this project, the fence was painted using Dover White by Sherwin Williams. Then painter's tape was used to hold the large version of the Dandelion Stencil in place. The pretty flower pattern was painted in Goldfinch by Sherwin Williams using a dense foam roller. Once the stencil was painted, it was lifted and repositioned at alternating levels for a whimsical look. The small seed stencil was painted across the fence to give the appearance that the seeds are blowing in the wind.
