As we like furniture from pallets so much, we have turned a pallet into a very original coffee table. We have covered the surface of the table with artificial grass and the result is both a coffee table for the garden and, if you are one of the creatives, a platform to organize a talent show at home;)

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

Tools

  • Cutter
  • White marker
  • Caulk gun
  • Sandpaper block

Materials

  • Adhesive for artificial grass (like  this one)
  • Artificial grass/turf carpet (like this one)
  • Wood pallet
Cut the artificial grass to fit the pallet

To ensure that the size of the grass that will cover the upper part of the pallet is the same as the pallet itself, mark the back of the artificial grass with a marker. Use a white marker to show the line.

Use a cutter to cut the artificial grass. Generally the grass material is thick, so the cutter is more recommended than scissors.

Sand the pallet to remove imperfections and dirt

Since the pallet will be covered by the artificial grass, you do not need to thoroughly sand the pallet as if it were to be seen. All you have to do is go over the imperfections with a sandpaper to make sure that the grass will stick well later.

For the adhesive to work properly between the artificial grass and the wood of the pallet, clean the dust and sawdust residues that are detached with the sandpaper with a brush.

Glue the pallet to the grass

To finish your easy coffee table that we are assembling, you will only need a special adhesive for artificial grass, like  this one. The  presentation format of artificial grass is thick, heavy and made of a plastic material. Therefore, not just any adhesive will work.

These types of adhesives that come in cartridge format must be applied with a caulk gun. So that the grass mat is well fixed to the pallet, apply adhesive strips on all the slats of the pallet (as in the photo).

Once the adhesive is applied, place the artificial grass on the pallet to finish your coffee table.

And finally, press lightly with your hands so that the adhesive penetrates well on the back of the lawn.

Table finished!

We were not deceiving you when we said it was easy. For this coffee table from pallet and artificial grass, in addition to these materials, you will only need a special adhesive. We hope you liked it. It is a fantastic idea to enjoy the summer on the terrace and use this table as a coffee table for drinks (supporting the drinks with a tray, of course), or as a footrest.
