I felt like I needed a storage solution for our outdoor furniture covers when they needed to be stored. I remembered the round bottoms and brackets from industrial size roof wind turbines we had. I made pumpkins out of the top portion’s a few years back. The tutorial is here on Hometalk.

I told my husband my vision of what I wanted them to look like and he gathered the bottoms of the roof wind turbines, old landscape edging, assorted pieces of wood, pop rivets and wood glue.

The first thing he did was cut down the brackets so the tables would be the right height for our furniture. He cut the edging to fit inside to hold the two round metal pieces together. He used the pop rivets to hold it all together.

We decided to make the wood tops octagon shape. He edged the outside with wood to allow the lid to sit over the tables. He cut wood circles to fit down inside the bottom.

After cleaning the tables I gave them a couple of coats of spray paint. The wood tops were done with solid color stain. I sponged on metallic copper and sealed the wood with two coats of poly.

I’ve spent the last several weeks redoing our back porch and trying to stay within a budget, so having to buy only paint and pop rivets for these tables was really nice. Here are a few pictures of my major project.
