Transform a Bath Into Garden Chair

A few years back our neighbour updated his bathroom, we gained the old bath as a raised bed for our vegetable patch. This summer it seemed right to give the bath another lease of life and transform it into a garden chair.
The bath was cleaned up prior to cutting it in half. Consideration was given as to whether to utilise the tap end, but the decision was made to use the other end as it is designed for a persons back!!
An angle grinder was used to cut the bath in half. Wood from a former shed was repurposed to create a base for the bath to sit on. The design of the fabric and of a chair was used as inspiration for the base.
The lip of the bath fits along the back wood support, with the base of the bath resting on the wood support at the front. This was then spray painted with an acrylic spray to seal the wood adding protection from the weather.
The basis of the chair was complete. To add some comfort a former duvet was cut up to create cushions - see instructions for how to make a template and the cushions on my blog.
I love this transformation of the bath, particularly the red colour.
