A Dollar General Blue Truck With Decor Transfers And A Succulent

I found a metal pickup truck at our local Dollar General and gave it a quick upcycle for my garden.

I found this navy blue metal decor truck at Dollar General.  (I have seen similar trucks at Menards and Hobby Lobby too.)

I paid $10 for it. I gave it a small upcycle with decor transfers, and placed it on my deck with a succulent!

I love this white Maisie & Willow Delightful Labels Decor Transfer. I have used portions of it on several different projects. (Less expensive transfers are not available at Dollar Tree)

I cut the words DES MOINES out of transfer sheets, pulled the paper backing off, and rubbed it on one door. The transfer tube has a stick to rub the transfer on.

Here I was demonstrating how to use the stick to rub on a transfer.

These graphics fit the door well.

I also applied a crown graphic and GREEN'S NURSERY to the hood of the truck.

An Iowa ADDRESS was added to the other door,

And FORD, also from the transfer was added to the bottom rear.

You will not use very much of the large transfer for this project, and will be able to use it on other projects.

I used a hammer and a nail to make drainage holes in the bed of my truck, and applied Painter's Touch Clear Matte Spray to the decor transfers for outdoor protection.

I also added a few drainage holes to a small faux distressed bucket from Hobby Lobby.

I purchased this Crassula Gollum succulent at a local greenhouse and planted it in the Hobby Lobby bucket.

I may apply a couple more coats of spray sealer to protect the transfers. So far, the truck has been rained on a couple of times, and the transfers are holding up.

Other rub on decor transfer on planter projects are HERE and HERE.
