Anthropologie Inspired Bird House Art

Spring is here and I'm on a gardening kick! I love lots of color and whimsy in my backyard, and I'm slowly putting together a garden area that's inspired by the Mad Hatter's tea party in Alice in Wonderland. When I saw this garden sculpture at Anthropologie, I knew it would fit in with my "fantastical" garden. The price tag ($498!!!) was wayyy out of my range, however. So, I did what any other determined crafter does - made my own for a whole lot less.
This piece is sure to spark conversation!
After painting and staining various bird houses, I assembled them on a wood panel.

My piece will be displayed on a covered patio, so it should hold together with glue. If yours will be exposed to the elements, you'll need to reinforce it and seal the finish.
It's cheery and colorful, and I can't help but smile when I look at it. If you like lots of color and unconventional decor, this is a project for you!
