When I found this rusty discarded bicycle wheel on a morning walk, I had NO idea what I was going to do with it; but I knew it deserved a second chance.
It was a couple of years before I was inspired to try this...
I saw these great dishes at Christmas Tree Shops that fit my backyard aesthetic exactly. And at a cost of less than $2.00 each I couldn't resist.
So, one by one, I wedged each plate between the wheel spokes.


Then I attached the wheel to an existing outdoor art wall that I created the year I moved into my condo (almost 4 years ago not) to give some height to my small space.

First, I joined two PVC fence posts with some pallet wood. Next I "planted" these in two large planters that I filled halfway with stones for stability. All the pots are now filled with beautiful flowering annual plants and all the pots below are abundant with perennials. Including herbs and veggies.


I positioned this garden art wall in such a way that it is what I see when I look out my sliding doors, and NOT the car dealership that is just beyond my patio.
