An old pair of boots from a deceased loved one can become a planter for the health giving Aloe Vera plant. I decided they would be so pretty in an old worn pair of boots from a dear loved one who has passed on. Aloe Vera is a tough succulent and easy to grow.
Aloe Vera are easy to grow if they get water once a month and plenty of sunshine. One thing they do not tolerate well is cold weather. Since we live where it is cold, we keep ours in planters and bring them in during the winter.
To transplant the aloe you will need a pair of old work boots like these or any old work boots, mud boots, or even ladies old dress boots. Also, you need gravel, hole in the boot bottoms for excess water to drain (these came supplied), potting soil, and a hand trowel.
Fill the bottoms with the gravel. Then add enough soil until you are ready to transplant the Aloe Vera.
Push the soil down firmly around the plant and water thoroughly. My husband has even taken broken aloe leaves and stuck them in potting soil with water and they rooted!
Last, find a nice place on the porch or garden path to set the newly transplanted aloe in the sunshine. Do you have a pair of boots you could use as a planter? Here is an easy and fun project to grow a plant that is easy to please.
