DIY Bird Bath From a Clay Garden Pot

I recently added a sunny flower garden to my house, complete with plants that attract birds, like sunflowers and phlox. I wanted to add a bird bath, but they can be expensive, so I created one of my own by using a large but simple clay pot and a clay pot saucer. I love how my new bird bath came out!

Did you have to treat the tray with anything to waterproof it? I love the idea and I've already put that on my spring to do list.

I didn't treat it with anything to waterproof it, but perhaps that might be a good idea. Now that I've had my birdbath for several years, it doesn't seem to hold water as long as it used to. Thanks for your question!
