DIY Bird Feeder
Upcycling plastic reduces the amount of waste that gets to the landfills. Using this waste plastic into something creative, not only helps the environment to reduce it's waste, but also helps us to be more creative. With increase in urbanisation and deforestation the population of birds is at high risk. Through bird feeders we can provide birds a reliable source of a year-round supply of food and water.
Step 1: Rinse and clean the bottle, and let it dry.
Step2 :Remove the label and cut the bottle into 3 sections.
Cut the bottle as shown. We will require top and bottom part of the bottle.
Cut the bottom part of the bottle as shown making 2 windows. If you feel that the edges are sharp and can harm the bird you can use sand paper to smoothen the edges.
Step 3: Paint the bottom part of the bottle, I'm using Matt Chalk paint.
Step 4: Once bottom part is painted, let it dry completely. For the top part I'm using pistachio shells to be stuck using glue gun.
Once done it will look something like this.
Step 5: Make a hole on the bottle cap and stick some pistachio shells on it. To paint top part of the bottle I have used orange Matt Chalk paint. I have also made design on the bottom part of the bottle.
Step 6: Make two holes on the bottom part of the bottle as shown and pass a wire through it and taking both the ends of the wire, pass it through the hole made on the bottle cap and make a loop outside.
Step 7: I have stuck a ribbon bow on the bottle cap and have put some food grains in the bird feeder and it's ready.
Hung it in a place where your visiting birds feel safe from predators.

That's a great idea! What about adding some wooden skewers going all the way thru to the other side, so the little birdies have a perch?! Definitely going to make one!!
